I want this to be a clan where members feel free to express their ideas with out fear of harassment from other members, so we need a guide line to make sure we maintain behavior standards to keep others from feeling disrespected. Anyone who has a suggestion can post below and if approved I will edit it into the official OoST CoC.
1. First rule of OoST is TALK ABOUT OOST!!! Participate in the forums, encourage your other friends or players from random encounters who you think would be a good fit for our clan. The more members and relationships we build the easier it will be to get clan activites together.
2. Use common sense. Malicious name calling or blatant disrespect will not be tolerated. Think along the lines of the golden rule here and "treat others and you wish others would treat you." That being said, certain things are going to happen that are to be too irresistible to poke fun at ("alright guys I'm almost there...and I just drove my sparrow off the map..."). Have a thick skin and be able to take a little abuse in the name of fun, and be ready to give it back.
3. Language. I am not going to make any rule about no swearing because we're (mostly) all adults here and are free to be who we want to be. If the language of a certain member becomes a problem to other members, the leadership team will asses the situation and act on a case by case basis. However; be careful with certain words and how they may affect other members. To some people a fag might mean a cigarette, to others it might be the equivalent of calling someone an asshole, and where I personally come from it is a derogatory word used to express hate towards the gay population. Again, (see #2) use common sense and think about if what you're about to say is going to be offensive.
4. Friends Lists. I would like to encourage everyone to add each other to their friends lists but see no reason for it to be a requirement. Obviously the more people add each other the easier it will be to get clan activities going, but let's face it, sometimes for some reason you find that person who bugs the crap out of you. It's not like you feel they're a bad player or bad person, they just don't fit the archetype for the usual gamer you want to spend time with. OoST members need to understand this and not take it personally if so and so never accepts your friend requests. It doesn't mean they wont play with you, it doesn't mean they think you suck, it's just individual gamers have a right to choose who makes it and who doesn't make it onto their friends list.
